A New Way To Travel?
Google's New VR (Virtual Reality Headset)
So I purchased a brand new Google Android phone last year. Just for upgrading my phone, I received every new promotion Sprint could throw at me. One included what they called a VR (Virtual Reality) headset. Had no idea what it was and really didn't care because what I really wanted was a new phone to play with. Long story short and about a week later, my pretty little package was delivered by UPS. I opened it up and began the process of transferring my data onto my new phone....which took the entire night. I woke up early the next morning to clean up and noticed a second box inside of the original that I had totally forgot about. It was my VR headset! I had no clue what this new device could do so I gave it shot.
I put on my VR headset and was immediately intrigued. All of a sudden, I was transported to a virtual movie theater were I had the option to choose from an almost realistic hunting game or an underwater tour of the ocean. Technology has made a dramatic jump over the past 10 years. Although some virtual reality options felt like I was in a 90's Sega Genesis game, others very realistic and took me to another part of the world all from my bedroom.
Now, Google has a new Google Earth Virtual Reality feature that would allow users to enter any address, whether it's the white house or grandma's house, and be able to fly over it using a VR headset. Visiting Google earth online already provides you with breath taking map and street views of any place on earth. Now with a VR headset, a person can feel like they're there without without ever leaving the front room. Happy Traveling!
