Chipotle: Play Spot the Imposter to earn FREE Chips and Guac! Part 2 of 2
Chipotle is giving away FREE Chips and Guac!
As Chipotle works feverishly to recover from the backlash of the now infamous salmonella outbreak of 2015, they've been turning to fun lil games. Are the games hard? Not particularly and that's the point. Chipotles reputation of the once impeccable fast (healthy) food chain, has taken a few hits over the years. Games like Guac Hunter, A Love Story Game and the most recent, Spot the Imposter are an attempt to improve that reputation and educate the masses about the quality of their food.
The way it works is you register your cell number with Chipotle and you'll receive a text inviting you to play. It's a rather clever promotion disguised as simple game. Could they have just sent out coupons, sure, but then they'd miss the opportunity to showcase their fresh ingredients with no artificial ingredients. Look elsewhere if you're looking for a challenge, but if you want free chips and guac along with your entrée look no further than here.
Some say they will need to do more to win back those customers that associate Chipotle with Salmonella. Time will tell, but the last shares have closed lower the day after Chipotle reported earnings in five of the past six quarters. Will these games turn things around? Time will tell.

I remember when Chipotle started this campaign after their bacteria scare. The company had a deeply damaged image and needed to bring customers back after a full cleaning sweep of their stores and food supply network. My office was buzzing when this came out since people could really get a free burrito just by playing a game. Free stuff is not always free though, and it did come with the risk to take a leap of faith and cash in on the free food from a company who managed to get an entire stores workers and customers sick. Just imagine the credibility disaster Chipotle would have had if a customer was cashing in a free burrito voucher from playing this game and got sick.
