Phil Kullen: Office Productivity Tools

What do you pay for your office productivity tools?

The established Web 2.0 technology which I'd like to focus on Web applications with a focus on Google Drive.  Today, there are many companies who provide Web applications that allow you to share and archive documents; collaborate; create forms; build spreadsheets; and post presentations.

Most businesses today are not locked into using MS Office as the only good option for office-type productivity applications.  Software companies are delivering Web based offerings like Libreoffice, Freeoffice, MS Office 360, WPS, iWorks, and Google Drive which all offer various business productivity tools.  Like most software offerings these deliver varying degrees of functionality and compatibility across different operating system platforms, but the key to all of them is that they are based in Web 2.0 technology and therefore don't require anything but a Web browser.

However, there is one leader in the field who continues to deliver on compatibility, functionality, and price - that's Google Drive.  Whether you are a PC or Mac user, Google delivers the same solution across platforms.  The company has also identified storage solutions that allow for expansion depending on the customer's needs and the same technology is used as an automated collaboration tool.  A user needs only to sign up for a Google Account and they will immediately have access to all of Google's free productivity tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Blogger, Mail, Calendar, and Drive) and can run a small business with no up-front software investment.
